Be a pond friend
Friends of Chapman’s Pond are doing a tidy-up event tomorrow from 9.30am unril noon. All are welcome.
Wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves. We’ll be cutting brambles, nettles and weeds. Also, thinning bushes and woodland, where appropriate, plus litter picking and cleaning signs.
Contact me if you’d like to become a Friend of Chapman’s Pond or go on our emailing list. It’s free. This year has seen progress with the management plan. Now we particularly want people willing to train as volunteer tree wardens.
Also, folk willing to put in funding bids, for example for activities on this public open space, reduction of antisocial behaviour, enhancements to fishing and for children, and so on.
You’ll be given lots of support. Could be a good CV-building opportunity.
