York’s own live aid

OXJAM is Oxfam’s month-long music festival. Since the first festival in 2006, Oxjam has raised more than £1.5 million. That’s enough to buy 13,000 emergency shelters; 60,000 goats or 900 classrooms.

Oxjam York continues tonight with a rock night at Gibson’s Rock Café in Coppergate, from 7.30pm to 10.45pm. The line-up includes And A Horse Rode On In, We Could Be Astronauts and Dark Days Of December. Entry is free, but a donation to Oxjam would be greatly appreciated. All contributions will go directly to Oxjam, so we can continue fighting poverty in the world’s poorest countries. Oxjam will also be staging live music during the York Festival of Food And Drink.
