I HAVE tried to comment before on the proposal to build an incinerator at Allerton Park and each time my letters have not been printed.

It has always been around the cost, so can someone please tell just what the money will be spent on? Compare the proposal at Monks Cross which has a cost of £90 million; the cost of the proposal at Allerton Park is, depending on which figure you use, either £900 million or £1.4 billion.

Just how large is this development; surely not ten to 15 times larger than that proposed site at Monks Cross?

If either of these proposals go ahead, it will be interesting to make comparisons, because I cannot believe that £900 million or £1.4 billion is the amount needed to build this. How many, schools, hospitals and affordable house could this provide?
