Common sense lives...

THE other night I had to make a journey across town to Shipton Road, via Leeman Road Sorting Office.

I bit the bullet and carried on through Leeman Road anticipating to be sat for a while on Clifton Bridge. To my amazement, I didn’t have a car in front of me or a cycle all the way to Clifton Green and I turned right with four cars turning left.

I would therefore like to commend the person or persons responsible for letting common sense prevail in returning the filter lane to Clifton Green.

I would also like to hope that the same decision makers would let common sense prevail again and put Tea Room Square back to how it used to be as well.

"The other night...." eh. Would you like to repeat your journey at the height of the evening peak in a few months time, and tell us what it was like.

I have travelled through this junction every night during rush hour, before and after the reinstatement of the filter lane,
the traffic has flowed much better and not once have I felt unsafe on my bicycle
why do we have to wait a few months for it to be worse ?

Is this when your fabled "gridlock" will occur ?

So would I, and as far of pedalling paul/Paul Hepworth's "gridlock", its just a wet dream of his. The removal of cycle and bus lanes, and the synchronising traffic lights to maximise car traffic flow will ensure it doesn't.
