IN RELATION to the article in The Press of September 12 about police numbers falling owing to the Government cuts.

Once again we see the chairman on the North Yorkshire Police Federation, Mark Botham, telling us the Government is in denial over the cuts and the impact it will have on our communities. Mark appears regularly in The Press and time always shows he’s right in what he states.

So where are the chairmen of the Superintendents’ Association and of the Association of Chief Police Officers, the managers of the service, with their support of Mark and the Police Federation?

I am sure their support would be welcome and not really affect their next promotions that badly.
