Paying twice

I WISH to enlighten our local councillors about a couple of facts.

1: Children over the age of 16 are still children. They don’t suddenly come into money, get jobs, eat less or get given handouts by strangers as they walk down the street (I wish!). So why are they full cost? How come my neighbours can take two school children to the Illuminating York Festival for £7, but I would have to pay £15?

2: I’ve already paid for some of the festival with my council tax, so why do I have to pay twice?

I just hope the view from the riverbank is good.

Lucky to only pay twice. This Council is bankrupt and yet they want to spend half a million quid on 20 mph speed signs and give themselves a pay rise while they are at it.
The cash has to come from somewhere, whether they make a democratic decision or a considered judgement.
Get ready for another Council Tax rise too!
