Better under Ryedale

A RECENT headline said that the council was going “£6m over budget” (The Press, September 1).
Well, it certainly hasn’t been long in power before this council in York has got us into debt; just like old Labour when in government.
The council is putting some of the blame on government cuts. Well, councils all over the country were offered a handout to help with their budgets.
York council refused this. So somewhere down the line the ratepayers are going to suffer for the council’s muck-up.
Why cannot we in the post codes of YO30, 31, 32 and outlaying areas of York revert and go back into Ryedale, as we did before? We had a better service all round.
