Anti-cyclists ploy

WITH reference to a correspondent of August 31 who was “reluctantly” adding further comments about cyclists on pavements.

While browsing on Google maps at street view, it would seem that at the time of mapping in a certain street in Huntington (or Close to be exact) three cars were parked on the footpath.

Could this be a ploy to force cyclists on to the road?

Good research by the letter writer! There were 3 on the pavement when the streetmap car came around, and two on the pavement when the aerial shot was taken.

Yes...pavement parking - a really common problem that gets conveniently forgotten when all the cyclist bashing goes on.

Remember who pays for the pavement and verge damage.

... which is ever council tax payer (including cyclists).

Also, can somebody explain why money was spent widening crichton avenue (clifton) and adding cycle lanes when now there is always a green fiat punto and a 'numark' transit parked on the cycle lane, forcing cyclists out into the middle of the lane...?
