NEVER throughout my teaching career have I encountered anything as infantile as the report in The Press of September 8 that the Labour administration in York had set up a website called “torytricks” designed to bring Conservative budget proposals into disrepute no matter how well meaning.
I can assure Coun James Alexander and his classroom friends that our local Conservative councillor would have nothing to do with any of the ‘tricks’ the website title alludes to.
He’s too busy standing up for the many villages in his ward, trying to help those in York who are desperate for housing and generally trying to hold back Labour’s overspending antics.
Obviously Coun Alexander’s ‘gang’ need a cover for their own inadequacies or perhaps Labour just need a more experienced and worldly-wise leader and then they wouldn’t have to play such silly playground games.
