We just loved Galtres Festival

I APPRECIATE that your critic Peter Martini has every to publish his professional opinion of Galtres Festival (The Press, August 28).

However, I must say, my experience of the festival was very different to your report. My husband, five-year-old daughter and I had a fabulous weekend and found Galtres far surpassed our expectations.

We bought tickets on the strength of Adam Ant’s performance, knowing it would be a fantastic show (we weren’t disappointed). But overall, we were impressed by the range of bands and quality of acts, the organisation of the event, the beer festival, the children’s entertainment, the family camping field, the quality of the food stalls and the happy, positive atmosphere that pervaded the whole weekend thanks to its great staff, volunteers and festival-goers.

On our arrival, a lovely volunteer steward even helped us to put our tent up.

In relation to other festivals, the prices for food and drink were reasonable ... except Galtres offered much better quality food and beer than you could hope for at most festivals. I take my hat off to the organisers.

I’m a happy customer who attended for the first time this year and would love to return.
