Place to take care
11:25am Monday 10th September 2012 in Letters By Reader's letter
I AM proud of our city, which thankfully it is not too blighted by graffiti like Selby is, and I watch with interest as German, Spanish and French registered motorcycles enter our beautiful city, usually via Hull Road.
I often thought it was a shame these tourists had to pass the dairy building on the way in and when it was pulled down to make way for modern flats, I was relieved.
However, on a few occasions the large lorries delivering to this site have held the traffic up, making me late for work and my children late to school.
Why do they need to make these deliveries during the rush hour? Leave it until 10am to 11am.
The contractors working at this development park their vehicles all day on the verges of Barstow Avenue.
This chews up the grass and is dangerous for the children who live and play on this street. I always drive dead slow on this road because of this.

To be honest, the section of Hull Road between Tang Hall Lane and Tranby Avenue is atually not too bad, as the traffic lanes are seperated by a decent green space and so gives a feeling of open-ness. Just a shame once you head further into York the street becomes more narrow, clogged with parked cars on the side, and riddled with traffic queues.

It isnt the prettiest way in but thats the ferry route and yes blocks of flats are smarter than the old dairy but hey ho soon they will have a Mosque to admire as well.
