Skipping back
9:49am Wednesday 5th September 2012 in Letters By Reader's letter
WITH the Olympic Games only a hop, step and skip away from our own backyard along with sightings of pumas, lions, etc, roaming our countryside, it is time to reflect on one of my own experiences in the outback of Huntington .
It was early one morning, while taking the air in my back garden before work, that I was made aware of a wallaby sat on its haunches on next door’s lawn. Sobriety being the order of the day, it was not until this apparition repeated itself, along with a photograph that I had not been watching Star Trek, that I was able to convince my wife and reported the sighting to the authorities.
Needless to say, it was returned to its rightful owner and normal service returned. With one eye on garden undergrowth while in the potting shed, I ventured forth once more.
