Time well spent

I NOTICED a small article in The Press of August 8, entitled “Waste not, want not”. It concerned the fair run by York and North Yorkshire Waste Partnership.

I would like to make readers aware that it is a much more exciting event than it may appear.

Last year there were on sale vintage clothes, candles in crockery, jewellery made from waste crayons, recycled materials made into hats, cushions, tea cosies, mittens and a whole lot more. All this reasonably priced.

There are workshops, but there will be this year more than 30 stalls, all of which have behind them a skilled and inventive person who has turned something old into something new using fabrics, metals, woods, etc.

This fair takes place on August 25 and entry is free. You should come and see what it is all about – it will not be a ‘waste’ of time.
