This gun tragedy
9:54am Wednesday 25th July 2012 in Letters By Reader's letter
HOW sad that yet again people have been killed in the USA by a random shooter. I thank goodness for the gun laws that operate in the UK and wish there were more control here.
So many families bereaved, lives cut short, all because of one young man who could not tell the world of reality to that of a movie. The victims’ families will never have their loved ones back. This man didn’t hate them, know them or want revenge. He went to the movie intending to do wrong or he would not have had a weapon with him. It is a total tragedy for all concerned. Will this make the government take action or alter the views of those who believe we should all be free to carry weapons?
Action should at last be taken, discussions take place and positive decisions taken.
My sympathy goes out to the families of the deceased and injured.
Please, everyone who knows of people who carry concealed weapons for no apparent legal reason report it to the authorities, even anonymously.
A tragedy has occurred and families and friends have been bereaved for no good reason.
