Bins or local people?
12:20pm Wednesday 11th July 2012 in Letters By Reader's letter
I am quite simply agog at the extent to which the supposed Liberal Democrats in York seem more concerned with litter bins than the welfare of local residents, given their motion to full council on Thursday (The Press July 9).
Yes, it is difficult to work out which areas of spending should be reduced when faced with the total Liberal support of a Tory-led government’s hacking away of funds to local councils.
However, Labour in York prioritised the vulnerable, infirm and the young. Labour were absolutely right to do so and will be vindicated very soon, I am sure.
