Heading for disaster

PEOPLE going on holiday, as the plane was taking off, used to say: “Greece, here we come.”

But the so-called austerity measures being taken by the Government are resulting in borrowing increasing to record levels, and unless the deficit is overturned to a surplus through either more taxation or reduced state spending, those words “Greece here we come” will take on a completely different meaning.

Our AAA rating is only encouraging fly-by-night politicians to curry favour by recklessly spending much more than we earn.
