THE mainstream British news media are agreed that the trial of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four other victims of US torture is a farce, and so it is, but for very different reasons than those stated.
The trial is staged in a torture and deprivation centre which is illegal under all humanitarian law and is built on land stolen (or occupied illegally) from Cuba.
The evidence against these victims has been obtained by torture, which would make that evidence inadmissible in any other country pretending to be a democracy; in fact the media furore over the expulsion of Abu Qatada rests on the same scenario.
The notion that these five individuals can know anything about the demolition of the Trade Towers is pure fantasy.
If the CIA doesn’t already know the truth about 9/11 then they might try water boarding Cheney, Wolfowitz, Bolton, Negroponte and other puppeteers of the last US President.
