A show that just defies gravity
11:34am Tuesday 8th May 2012 in Letters
On Thursday night, we went to the Grand Opera House to see the show, Cirque du Ceil. It was absolutely magnificent. People will have seen the taster show they put on in Parliament Street.
The sheer energy of the cast throughout the show, which lasted almost two hours, made us exhausted just watching.
Some of the acts just defied gravity, with some of the cast literally running up a vertical pole. The twists and turns and acrobatics were fantastic.
How on earth they managed to put their bodies into the positions they achieved was almost beyond belief. We were smiling all through the show and ended up with tingling hands with all the applauding. We could have gone again and again to watch that show. Unfortunately they were in York for just two days.
So thanks for a wonderful evening to the members of Cirque du Ceil. Please come again.
