  • "The cost of developing a new drug is likely to be in the region of several hundred million pounds. Many drugs will not ever reach the market, so drug companies need to cover the costs of the failures as well as the costs of developing the successes.

If a company does not think it can get a return on its investment, it will simply stop investing; therefore no new drugs."

You should be ashamed

IT is sad we have medicines that are out of reach for many because of the cost to the NHS.

Many of us in the community go out and rattle our tins for these drug companies to support the manufacturing of such medicines.

But what is the point of many of us collecting at supermarkets and stores in our cities and towns for these companies to research new cures only to then find that some medication is out of reach and the NHS is being ripped off.

These drug companies should be ashamed of themselves.
