ON THE front page of The Press of March 13 was an article promising 14,500 new NHS dentist places.

I read this in amazement as just the previous day I had been informed that the practice where my 12-year-old daughter is receiving treatment can no longer treat her under the NHS, because the PCT had made a recent decision to withdraw their contract from April 1.

I have been informed that there will be a ‘skeleton’ service from April, but the new premises will not be up and running until late summer.

Where does that leave my daughter who is half way through her treatment, and the other 350 NHS patients at this practice?

Surely it would have been more appropriate for the PCT to continue funding as they are clearly not ready for the transition?
