Keep the hunting ban

WE have our brave soldiers giving their lives to keep us safe. There are young men killing each other around the country. There are nearly three million young people out of work, while millions struggle to pay their bills.

What do you think the coalition wants to talk about? It wants to repeal the hunting ban. Can anyone explain to me why you just can’t ride out with the hounds?

Why do you need to chase and kill a sentient being? With animal cruelty on the increase, how are we supposed to teach our kids that animal cruelty is wrong, when the people who make the laws of the land are the ones doing the cruelty?

Killing for fun belongs in the past; leave it there. Also let’s not forget that this blood thirsty coalition aims to kill thousands of badgers.

Future generations will never forgive our cruelty.

Mr D Fillingham, The Crossway, York.

Strange irony how pro-hunters argued that the Labour goverment of the day had far more important things to deal with than banning hunting with dogs.
Now that same argument employed here.
And no, the ban should not be repealed

The coalition is not trying to reverse the ban, despite it being in the coaltion agreement there is no real will amongst MPs (rightly or wrongly) and we are nearly two years into the government with no signs of change.

Killing for fun? That I believe is what foxes do, though there probably aren't many ravaged hen houses or dead sheep killed for the sake of it by foxes in Crossway.

People have real things they can do to stop cruely - buy they would rather buy their £1 chicken breasts, their Danish bacon etc and save money rather than think about the animals.............
.......still if they can go on about the antics of some people who seek to kill the vermin that is foxes, they keep their conscience clear.

If you had a horse and a pack of hounds, you would want to go hunting, don't be so selfish. This is a very humane way of keeping fox's numbers down. Get a life.

It does not keep their numbers down by their own admission.
The bottom line is why should humans (the highest evolved animals) take a pleasure in the orchestrated death of animals and dress up to do it. There is no answer to that basic moral issue

Great news that the badger baiters have been jailed. Let’s hope that the judiciary have the same courage to take on those hunting with hounds.
