Grand National: A cruel way to treat horses

ONCE again, two horses lose their lives in the Grand National.

Why? So man can make money out of them.

It is a cruel race and should be stopped.

Why do we abuse all animals so man can profit from them?

Will these poor horses be remembered by next week?

I don’t think so. They will be replaced by more horses – so it goes on and on.

Maybe it would be more fun just to race the jockeys with no horses and see if they can jump over the fences.

I would go and watch that.

Naive Angela, why ban just the Grand National? There were at least 3 horses that had to be destroyed throughout the Aintree weekend. You should be asking to ban the whole thing?

Most years someone dies at the London Marathon. Should they ban that too?

Are you serious? Runners make their own mind up and run the risk, horses do not have that choice. Doh !
Oh not most years at the marathon. Check your facts

Do you think a horse would run if it didn't want to? Of course not. There have been many times when a horse has not started a race.

Mentos, did you check your facts? Did you ask each horse whether they were happy to run?

Does the london marathon application form state that you might die if you run it? I'd like to know (and if they can prove it as well).

If the horses don't like it, why do they continue to run round after they've fallen/unseated the jockey?
