SOME weeks ago, like many others, I received an annual bank statement on my holiday savings account with one of the leading banks.
To my disgust I discovered the bank had been paying me 0.6 per cent interest on my savings for the past year.
I registered my annoyance and duly moved my bit of cash elsewhere.
A couple of weeks later I received another statement of savings from York Credit Union, and was amazed to find that their share of profits paid to customers was two per cent.
This set me wondering if residents of York are aware of the huge advantages of banking with York Credit Union.
In addition to the comparatively large annual payouts to customers, the public can rest assured that their money is NOT being used to pay large salaries or fat-cat shares and bonuses.
The Credit Union is legally non profit-making and is run with any profits going straight back to the customers.
Loans are also available at very fair rates and the staff are always polite, helpful and ready to advise everyone regardless of their circumstances.
So if you want a bank with a conscience, offering a service second to none, why not phone 01904 676633? You could have a very pleasant surprise.
