WITH regard to the replacement white lining at Knavesmire Road, at the racecourse entrance with Knavesmire Crescent and down Campleshon Road on Ladies’ Day.
Who would organise this on such an important day, putting these hard-working men at risk, cause race traffic disruption, plus the ladies in delicate footwear and long dresses, gentlemen in excellent attire, all stepping out from their limo transport on to fresh white lineage?
I appreciate the paint material used is quick-setting, but one race party alighted from their transport on to wet paint.
A further comment to the race committee and City of York Council: please provide extra portable toilet compartments and waste bins in full view of our racing visitors.
I do not attend the race meetings, but enjoy the events and take this opportunity to say many thanks to those who support each event – the police/community police who patrol this area and the City of York Council rubbish-clearing team after each event.
Roz M Agar, Knavesmire Crescent.
