Tracey Simpson-Laing (Soapbox, March 17) is right about David Cameron and Rupert Murdoch and their attacks on the BBC. What she fails to mention is that, until The Sun newspaper (owned by Mr Murdoch) switched its support from Labour to the Conservatives, Labour did everything it could (including taking Test Match cricket away from terrestrial TV and giving it to Sky) to keep in Murdoch’s good books; Tony Blair even flew all the way to Australia to lick his posterior.
