COINCIDENCE? Timing? Who knows? I find it quite amazing to learn that, within a short space of time following the departure of the chief executive of Royal Mail, agreement has been reached over working conditions and other areas of dispute during recent weeks.
This shows exactly the role Mr Adam Crozier has played within Royal Mail as was the case, presumably, during his time at the Football Association. He has now turned his attack on the ITV organisation, and I wonder just how long it will be before his axe will fall on staff or programmes within that company. My message is: beware ITV.
Perhaps Royal Mail in York will now reinstate the main post office to its former standing and, at the same time, re-establish the philatelic counter, which is sadly missed by all the stamp collectors and philatelists in this wonderful, busy city.
There can be no other main post office in the north as busy as the general post office in York. Evidence? Just look at the massive queues which can be seen almost every hour of every day.
Perhaps Mr Crozier, after his term of office, will take a post within the Royal Bank of Scotland in the not too distant future and bring that organisation to its knees as well.
