Black mould on house walls has been an ongoing problem over the years when I lived in York (The Press, March 8). Two council properties I have lived in both had this mould.
The bathrooms and kitchens are usually the worst, but it can affect other rooms. I was told to open the windows or put more heating on.
In one flat, I lived in water standing inches deep under the floor boards, as the workmen found out when putting a new boiler in.
The only way to clear this mould problem is a good mould spray from a local hardware shop. It does come back after each winter. I can understand the annoying problem. Ms J Owston, Jubilee Court, Haxby, York.
