Welland Rise had a couple of unwelcome visitors last week. They were spotted by a vigilant neighbour, who dialled 999.
Even before he had put the phone down, the local contingent of boys in blue had arrived and collared the miscreants on my very doorstep.
There has been some doubt expressed concerning the efficacy of PCSOs, but I have to applaud this outstanding performance.
The following day I was visited by two members of the force who gave me some valuable words of advice concerning security: reassuring and highly professional.
I doubt if I expressed adequately my sense of relief, admiration and gratitude.
