Where is threat?

SO Gordon Brown wants to spend billions on defence.

Are we being threatened? Because if we are it’s wretched politicians who are causing us to be threatened.

Half the world’s starving, a lot at war, we have a global warming, we’re in the grip of a recession and they’re spending more on defence.

Why don’t they spend this money on eradicating starvation, making the desert fertile, cleaning up after the disasters. Have these people no vision?

It’s about time we had politicians like Michael Foot or Tony Benn in power; at least they were men of peace.

Threats are here on our doorstep. People standing openly on our streets in crowds, with threatening placards. Others have already blown innocent people up. Others found to have terrorist plans, dangerous weapons, and hostile material on their computers.

That's more than enough to start with.
