I WAS reading the letter where the lady got knocked down by a scooter. Well, I myself use one and I can’t shop without it.
The thing is, I wish I had a pound for every time I hear some people say: “You nearly run into me.”
If some people would look where they are going we would not have to stop so many times. It is the same with pushchairs. They don’t look where they are going, they just think they own the road.
I am nearly 80 years old, and I can’t do my shopping without my scooter, so just watch where you are going.
Mrs A Knapton, Dower Court, William Plowes Avenue, York.

She has the power in her machine to seriously injure others so she must realise that she is the potential hazard and not the young mother with pushchair and toddler in tow.
When you reach 70 plus you have to know your limits , and if you are no longer " safe to drive" whether this be car or " scooter" then maybe extra training would help, or you will have to find alternative transport.
