What a disgusting specimen of a human being is a fat chef called Clarissa Dickson-Wright (TV chef and trainer admit hare coursing, The Press, September 2).
She thinks chasing animals until they can’t run any more then watching them been ripped to pieces is “fun”.
I would like to know how much “fun” she would have if she was put into a lions enclosure (full of lions, of course), then she could be chased so much that she couldn’t run any more and then be ripped to pieces.
I don’t think she would say she had had a “jolly good day”.

Typical letter from a "do gooder" that obviously doesn't know what they are talking about. Hares are a flight animal (like horses) and developed to run very fast and can do so for a long time. Greyhounds can run even faster but only for about 30 secs. The Hare nearly always gets away, and I doubt if it and is never "ripped to pieces" . The main crux of the LACS case seemed to be that although the hares were being chased towards the guns, the Guns didn't shoot them ! Are to take it that LACS would have preferred the Hares to be shot rather than let free ? Infact most landowners who allowed hare coursing allowed the Hares to thrive on their land and protected them from poachers for that very reason. Now most will end up getting shot and poached.
