WELL, I think I have seen it all now with regard to reducing physical activity in the kitchen, thereby adding more calories to the already growing obesity problem.

I refer to the new product on the market for people too lazy to crack an egg; the liquid carton containing eggs as a substitute when making an omelette, or used in this day and age as a rare treat in home cooking.

We are already being programmed as to what we can and cannot eat or drink, as most of the products seem to have side-effects and only the microwave oven will prevent food poison.

I think we are reaching a stage where we are treading on eggshells, and common sense seems to have been lost in the art of good housekeeping and simple application.

With regard to cartons of liquid eggs, one only has to reflect to the war years, when dried milk and eggs were the order of the day, especially in major cities and towns, as a substitute for fresh food.

I know we are in a recession, but do we really have to put the clock back?
