A few weeks ago City of York Council expressed their concern about traffic pollution.
Since then they have decided that the new link road through the Nestlé site connecting Wigginton Road to Haxby Road will be for pedestrians, cyclists and non-existing buses. They then announce in The Press on July 12 plans to close Micklegate Bar to traffic from town.
This is another case of putting all your eggs in one basket and moving pollution and congestion from one place and increasing it in another. No wonder the city centre is dying.
