I AM writing in regards to Janet Kitchen-Cooper’s recent letter (The Press, June 20) in which she raises some interesting points about the use of plastic. I share her concerns.

This is what I said at Mayor Making a month ago: “I want this year’s Civic Party to raise awareness of sustainability and in particular single use plastic - to promote businesses or organisations that are leading by example.”

Whenever the opportunity has arisen since then, I have repeated this message.

Should any business or organisation in the city feel that the Mayorality can promote their positive work on the reduction of single-use plastic, the civic party would be more than pleased to help.
