SOME people believe that being in the EU is advantageous in the event of a trade war with the US.

To me our involvement is precisely because of our EU association.

Donald Trump has long been on record as saying that the EU has been taking the US for a ride because Germany/EU has fixed the Euro rate artificially to their advantage.

Despite selling VWs in the US on a two per cent tariff, Germany/EU impose 10 per cent on US vehicles.

German/EU non-tariff barriers ban American foodstuffs for spurious reasons.

Despite stirring up Russia by expanding right up to her borders, the EU relies on the US for protection.

More or less only Britain pays its full whack to NATO in men, material and money.

In short, so long as our politicians refrain from personal insults, I believe that a free UK has every chance of avoiding the post of German/EU cannon fodder and can trade profitably with the US.
