WITH reference to the article “Views sought on how park and buildings might evolve” (The Press, May 24), I feel they should leave the green open space around the Minster alone.

It is a place where you can go for a bit of peace and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

And to have another tea room? Please, don’t you think York has enough of them already?

We don’t need all parks to be ‘vibrant’

I WOULD like to agree with the letter by Mr Powdrell (“Let’s leave this area for peace”, Letters, May 28).

Not all parks have to be “vibrant”. Sometimes a tranquil, green place is needed for people to relax and unwind after the bustle of the city.
