WE went to the recent Teardrop site exhibition, where staff answered questions.
Q. How many extra vehicles will go onto Clifton Bridge?
A. Where’s that?
Q. Isn’t it the only new access?
A. That’s called Water End Bridge isn’t it?
Q. 2,600 houses - correct?
A. No, 2,600 apartments and 100 or so houses, workshops etc.
Q. 1.2 cars per home?
A. Yes, that’s about it.
Q. Plus work, delivery etc - about 10,000 extra a day?
A. Yes, that’s about right.
Q. Did you know Clifton Bridge is very busy?
A. I don’t have any figures.
Q. What about the asbestos buried at the old Carriageworks?
A. I don’t know anything about that.
We gave up and went home via Clifton Bridge, wherever that is.
