Roger Backhouse (Letters November 22), asks should he take advice from Sir James Dyson, who moved production of his products to the Far East?
Fortunately for the workers in the Far East Sir James didn’t suffer from xenophobia. In fact, he is more an altruist. Witness his advising Britain to ‘walk-away’ from the ludicrous cash demands from the doomed-to-fail EU.
Another correspondent, Alan Robinson (Letters November 22) says ‘Why single Dyson out?’, ‘Who says he knows what he’s talking-about?’, as though Sir James was running a whelk stall at Scarborough rather than being the highly successful creator of the ‘Dyson’ brand.
A headline in another newspaper recently informed us: ‘Factory orders at highest since 1988’. All undoubtedly ‘for export’.
Hardly the description of the ‘doomed-to-fail’ country forecast by the Remoaners.
The German manufacturing giant, Siemens, is pressing on with a proposed £35million factory in Britain.
Although people, like myself, champion our leaving the EU, the ‘anti’ brigade, like Messrs Backhouse and Robinson, never formulate exactly why Britain should remain in the EU. So, gentlemen, how about it?
Another thing too. It would appear that Germany has had enough of Angela Merkel who is largely responsible, with her ‘open borders’ policy, for the swamping of Europe.
The EU will fail as more and more countries ditch it. We’ll be well out of it!
