I WONDER if anyone noticed the irony of the articles on housing in The Press recently.

There was a picture of a local councillor promoting the cause for more low cost housing in York and directly below this article was a piece on how yet another building was to be taken over for student accommodation.

No wonder low cost housing is a problem in York, every available space is being bought up for student housing.

No council tax, it’s okay, I will pay to empty your bin and light the streets.

Housing not occupied for long periods, and antisocial behaviour like ambulance-calling games and pub crawling which has to be policed.

Try calling the police for help at the weekend.

A bus network that ensures nearly every available bus passes the university, but prevents other bus users from reaching the hospital for visiting time.
