TO avoid a potential winter crisis in the NHS an extra £500 million would do the trick, so says shadow health secretary Jon Ashworth.
If only it was that simple.
Typically lacking in this assertion is the accompanying thought out plan of action, justifying this further injection of taxpayers’ cash.
Sounds to me more like a politician who cannot tell a bed pan from a bed block just plucking a figure from the money tree in pursuit of publicity.
This to favour his own career for in six months he could well be shadow minister for another department about which he has even less knowledge.
