WE have written several times recently about the number of shops closing on York’s main ‘high street’, Coney Street. So it is good to be able to report some more positive news.
Leading Italian cosmetic brand Kiko Milano is hoping to take over the former Wallis shop in Coney Street itself, while just around the corner in St Helen’s Square fashion brand Marchbrae is set to take over the former TSB bank. Leading retail property agent Andrew Hedley, meanwhile, says he’s confident more empty shops will soon find occupants.
The run-up to Christmas would be the perfect time for that to start happening...
