ROMAN roof tiles, Viking ice skates, Victorian ointment jars and a graffiti-daubed brick dating from the Industrial Revolution - just some of the many treasures unearthed by archaeologists at Hungate.
The finds are like a snapshot of York’s extraordinary history. And they’ll be on show until Christmas in a special exhibition at the Hungate sales and marketing suite off The Stonebow. One not to be missed for anyone interested in York’s past.
