IN recent weeks the media has been full of Princess Diana.

Many of those reporting would be in nappies, at primary school, or secondary school during her time.

I was not a fanatical supporter of Diana but as she was a member of the Royal family she had my respect.

She has now been dead for 20 years, why cannot she rest in peace?

She should not be dragged up in all sorts of guises to sell newspapers.

Diana became a member of the Royal family and with Prince Charles produced princes William and Harry.

Thanks to William and Kate we now have George and Caroline.

The Royal family is a very special institution, an important safety valve against an autocratic government by someone with extreme views.

Reporters seem to forget that Prince Charles had an important role to play.

He has been king-in-waiting for a very long time and has conducted his duties in exemplary style.

Yes, I am a royalist and proud of it.

Let us now turn to the impending conflict with North Korea.

I am back to the naivety of the press. The majority of reporters seem to think that war is a video game that you play on your computer.

Those of us who lived through the Second World War will have other thoughts.

Need I say more.
