HAVING been almost mown down on a number of occasions by cyclists with blatant disregard for the “no entry” sign in Davygate, I think it’s high time that cycle registration is made mandatory with an appropriate tax fee so that culprits can be traced and dealt with under highway law generally.
I am certainly not anti-cycle or a Victor Meldrew, in fact a retired keen cyclist who toured Yorkshire and neighbouring counties in earlier times.
This growing trend is worrying and needs addressing and, as dark winter evenings approach, legislation regarding lights also needs some rigorous enforcement.
