WHEN the vintage helicopter in which Les Clark was a passenger crashed during a vintage aircraft weekend, two more helicopters from the Yorkshire Air Ambulance were quickly on the scene. Les and his friend Nigel Feetham were rushed to hospital.

Sadly, Nigel died of his injuries. But Les, now 60, survived. And since the accident, he and Nigel’s friends and family have raised more than £16,000 for the air ambulance.

It seems unfair that this vital service has to rely on charity to keep flying. But how wonderful to see survivors like Les being able to give something back.
