WHILE we have watched on TV the plight of refugees fleeing war zones and seeking sanctuary in Europe, few of us can begin to imagine what it is like to embark on such a journey.
Which was why the Cornish family from York took part in a 180-mile coast-to-coast trek from Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.
It was quite a challenge for the family of seven, particularly little Esme who is only four years old.
They have raised almost £4,000 for RAY (Refugee Action York) which will surely make up for every cold and aching step of their 16-day adventure.
