DAWN WATTS was a worthy finalist in The Press’s Community Pride awards last year.
Dawn, who was diagnosed with cancer in 2013, has raised more than £32,500 for charities such as York Against Cancer.
In recent months she has been fundraising for her own personal appeal – hoping to raise £15,000 to help pay for complementary cancer treatment in Spain after tumours have spread elsewhere in her body.
She has raised £10,000 so far and leaves for Spain next week to meet her oncologist.
The generosity of people is heartwarming and if anyone deserves this cash, it is surely Dawn.
We wish her well.
