AFTER A couple of months I had trained a few birds to come to my back door to feed.

It was a pleasant sight to see them sitting on the fence waiting to be fed, especially as I knew some of them were feeding their young.

That pleasure has been taken away from me now. In the past three weeks four of the birds have been killed by cats.

Why do people who keep cats not accept responsibility for them? Why don’t they clean up after them?

Why do they think it is okay for their pets to go on other people’s property at any time, day or night?

Why can’t they at least put a bell on the cats?
