WHEN Chris Grayling as Justice Minister announced that he was to part privatise the Probation Service and the Court Interpreter Service, many including the judiciary said he was heading for trouble.
And so it came to pass. The Probation Service is now in disarray and many court hearings have been cancelled due to a lack of co-ordination and availability of interpreters, by private operators, due to low salary scales.
Fast forward to today when Chris Grayling, now the Transport Secretary, announces a vanity project Crossrail 2 costing billions once again for London, and his demolition of most of the housing stock in South Yorkshire for his second vanity project HS2 once again costing billions.
The announcement that the short distance between Manchester and York will not now be electrified.
It is about time someone had a word in the Prime Minister’s ear, just like someone had a word with David Cameron, and sack him now, before he realises he still has a problem on Southern Rail.
