Bootham Park Hospital in York
IT is great news that a purpose-built mental health hospital is to be built in Haxby Road (“Site chosen for mental health unit”, The Press, June 16).
It is also encouraging that the Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust has listened to concerns and have increased the planned number of beds.
However, this must only be the start of the process.
We must hope, through ongoing and detailed consultation, that the trust now designs and develops a building that really puts patients needs first.
